Sunkist® Color and Blemish (CAB - G1) Optical Grading System
The Sunkist® CAB - G1 Grading Unit is a high-resolution electro-mechanical
system for machine grading of citrus fruits. Lemons and valencia
oranges are the two most successfully graded varieties due
partly to their general oblong shape yielding a generally consistent
fruit position in the mechanical carrier pocket.
Color and Blemish "CAB" Electro-Mechanical Grader -
(CAB - G1)
- The mechanical carrier is a patented spool / lifter / moveable solenoid assembly unit.
- The CAB - G1 system operates at a constant lane speed of
8 pockets per second.
- Multiple 4-lane frames (up to four) can be integrated
and programmed to function a single system.
- A multiple machine system can remain in operation, if
one or more lanes or machines in the system become inoperable.
- The system uses two high resolution cameras and processors
per lane.
- Each lane is integrated with the system to operate as
a single grading machine.
- Fruit can be sorted by size, blemish, color, shape,
and variegation.
- A single "host" computer provides a single interface
for the operator to control the system, and gather grading
data.
- The operator sets fruit grade values by drop point to
control fruit distribution.
CAB- G1 Mechanical System
- Each CAB Grading System consists of 1 to 4 lane machines.
This provides a maximum of 16 lanes, each processing 8
fruit per
second. That is a maximum of 128 fruit per second.
- The minimum system length is 27' 10" which
has capability for up to 5 drop points.
- The system can be extended with 45" and 90" long drop
sections, each adding 3 or 5 drop points, respectivley.
Drop sections can be added in any combination.
- Each module has a 5 hp main drive motor.
- The system contains Mitsubishi® A.C. inverters and programmer for motor speed
control.
- The system also contains a PLC panel assembly with warning alarm and controls, provides
for interface to house operations.
CAB- G1 Optical System
- The grading system is run by a PC with
monitor, keyboard and printer.
- The system contains optical housing complete with camera assemblies.
- It also contains Sola® transformers, 3 KVA for optics power and 2 KVA for
control computer system.
Commercially developed task specific cameras and filter wheel
assemblies perform optimum grading.
